Stupid top management

Hi friends,

From today onwards, I will post very good work place stories in PSU Banks. How the top management is stupid in not changing themselves to new methods to face competition from private banks. Every month performance reviews are conducted for two days at head office. All the tiers below the head office again waste two days in conducting meeting at their level for preparation to the meeting at head office level. See 4 days gone fut in reviewing historical data. They bring and discuss petty non sense issues like absence of an employee at a particular branch for long period for which proper mechanisim already been put in place to be dealt with. The meetings go on and free break fast, lunch, snacks, tee/coffee/cool drinks are supplied in hundreds. The deliberations and conclusion will be " Branches should be advised to put in effort to bring new contacts and improve business" For this small out come which is repeated every month, valuable time of hundreds of officers is wasted down the last ( these officers have to call data from branch, compile and put it in formats prescribed by head office). The bloody top officials waste time in the meeting talking over cell phone to somebody not important and waste time. The meeting is normally is conducted by MD or ED/CGM. The entire meeting goes and takes direction depending upon the mood of the top official. He will have 4 pet topics like corporate goals, inclusive growth, self help groups financing, efficiency in customer service and he will give repeated speech of these topics by selecting one topic every month. Next month, next topic and then come the 5th month, 1st topic is repeated.. Same content. all the officials down the level listen as though he is giving greatest discovery. Hours and hours are then wasted on petty issues like non working of a pass book printer in a branch. This how the top management works. Today, I will stop at this level and would reveal more tomorrow
